TYNEDALE slipped into the Division Two North relegation zone after going down 24-21 at Huddersfield.
And although they have a game in hand on all their fellow strugglers, it is against Chester, who defeated leaders Hinckley 19-0 on Saturday, and will be a tough nut to crack.
In a ding-dong battle, Tynedale held the lead three times against the Yorkshiremen, but lost out after conceding a late try.
Tynedale fielded three members of Newcastle Falcons’ senior academy squad, all three of whom have have represented England at U18 level.
