THE sun came out as hundreds of runners took part in the Essity Prudhoe Miners' Race on Sunday.

Tynedale Harrier Adam Pratt took was crowned overall winner of the 10k race, with a time of 35m 02s.

He finished ahead of Jack Boaden, of Blaydon Harriers, who was second with a time of 37m 25s. 

In third place was unattached runner Neil Clubbs, on 37m 30s. 

Maria Catterall (unattached) was the winner of the women's race, with a time of 42m 44s. 

She finished ahead of Charmaine Ho (unattached) who was second with a time of 43m 57s, and third placed Elaine Mckechnie, of Gosforth Harriers, on 44m 41s.

The day also included a 3k race for 11-16 year-olds, and a 1.5k mini run for those aged between five and 10.
