EAGLE eye golfer Ritchie Kendrick is celebrating after scoring his fifth hole-in-one.

Kendrick holed his tee-shot at the 150-yard 8th hole at Tynedale Golf Club, in Hexham, on Sunday.

It came as the 69-year-old competed in the Mayor’s Trophy at the club, alongside playing partners Tony Dance and Johnny Dodd.

“This is my fifth hole in one, and my second at Tynedale,” he declared. “I’ll be 70 in October but I hope there will be some more golfing achievements left in me.”

Kendrick used his rescue club on a par 3 hole which requires a flighted approach onto a well-guarded green.

He explained: “There were two bounces on to the green and then we watched it roll into the hole.”

The avid golfer has enjoyed no shortage of success in recent years. Playing alongside club professional Martin Forster, the pair have picked up numerous honours in pro-am events.
