A RIDING Mill man has raised almost £5,000 for Parkinsons UK by climbing one of the Lake District’s most famous mountains – three years after his diagnosis.

Bill Law and his friend Bob Dawson organised a walk to the summit of Blencathra on May 19.

He was a keen fell walker before his Parkinsons diagnosis, and a strict exercise regime allowed him to keep fit enough to continue – with Blencathra marking his latest challenge. Bill, Bob and a team of around 20 supporters made it to the summit and recorded a “fabulous” day.
