FAMILY and friends will gather to pay their respects to popular Stamfordham football manager Craig McDonald on Friday.
The 43-year-old, who was the third generation of his family to run the Stamdordham team, died on June 9 after suffering a suspected heart attack.
A service will take place at the West Road Crematorium in Newcastle on Friday, at 2.15pm, followed by a gathering at Ponteland Social Club.
Craig grew up in Ponteland, and was also an active committee member at Ponteland United.
A charity football match, in memory of Craig, will take place on July 14 at Ponteland Leisure Centre.
It will involve both Stamfordham and Ponteland teams, and will raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
