MISS Newcastle winner and former Love Island star, Sophie Gradon, from Ponteland, has died aged 32.
Sophie, appeared on the 2016 series of the ITV2 dating show and was crowned Miss Newcastle and Miss Great Britain in 2009.
Her boyfriend, Aaron Armstrong, broke the news on Facebook this morning.
Although Northumbria Police were not in a position to confirm a name, a spokeswoman confirmed that police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland yesterday, where a 32-year-old woman was found dead.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
