A VAN driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of an 84-year-old man by careless driving.

Malcolm Harrison, (63) from Kirkley, was driving a Volkswagen Transport when he crashed into Thomas Gill on the A696, near Belsay, on December 2 2016.

Mr Gill was pronounced dead at the scene after his Volkswagen Golf collided with Mr Harrison's van.
