The college’s new base has opened on Cattle Market, next door to Cranstons, following the closure of The Graduate on St Mary’s Wynd in April.
While the students are now finished for the summer, the salon is offering new and existing clients a wide range of treatments with its senior stylists throughout July and August.
When the students return for the new term, there will be an official launch on September 14.
The salon will focus on hair and beauty training, and will be open to the public six days per week.
Andy Brown, head of academy for hair and beauty at Northumberland College, said: “This latest investment is testament to Northumberland College’s continued commitment to invest in industry standard training environments and align our provision with local economic need.”
