CHILDREN at Greenhead Primary School have been on a mission with the RAF to transform their nature garden.
The pupils worked with RAF personnel from nearby Spadeadam, to give the garden a new lease of life. Fencing and benches were erected, while bug hotels and hedgehog houses were installed.
Head of school Sarah Hutchinson said: “The children have absolutely loved being able to be a part of this fantastic outdoor opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed helping the RAF.
“We feel that by participating in engaging and achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment each child has an opportunity to develop motivation, emotional and social skills.
“The children now have the chance to work in an outdoor classroom and be part of an ongoing community project.”
