TWO students who fell in love while taking part in an archaeological dig on Hadrian’s Wall are set to get married.

Now aged 27, former Newcastle University students Stuart Brown and Fran Lalor worked together during a two-week dig at Birdoswald Roman Fort, near Gilsland.

The couple, who both went on to gain honours degrees in ancient history and archaeology, now live in Manchester.

But they will return to the North-East to get married at Newcastle’s Great North Museum: Hancock, in November.

The pair will exchange their vows while facing a scale model of Hadrian’s Wall.
