FOUR young men from the music course at the University of the Highlands and Islands, though with a Tynedale connection, are putting on a gig at Allendale Village Hall on Saturday, June 20, at 7.30pm.
They’ll be performing Scottish and Irish traditional music whilst on their way to play at the Beverley Folk Festival.
ALSO on Saturday, June 20, Catton celebrates its 25th village fair. It starts at 1pm and everyone’s welcome to come and join in all the fun! There are cake and plant stalls, bric a brac, books, children’s games, dancing displays and much more.
ST Cuthbert’s Church bell ringers will be in action on Friday, June 19, at 7pm, to commemorate a past ringer, Archie Hetherington, who was fatally injured during military training in Yorkshire 100 years ago.
THE Dales Garden Society is visiting Wolds Way Lavender and Scampston Walled Garden, near Malton, on Wednesday, July 8. There are seats available on the bus, which leaves Allendale Market Place at 8am, and anyone’s welcome to go along. Please telephone Pauline on (01434) 683484 to reserve a place.
