AN "exceptionally popular" Cumbrian hotel, home to a Michelin-starred restaurant, is being marketed by a new agent as its owners continue their search for a buyer.
Farlam Hall Hotel and Restaurant, near Brampton, has been on the market since January after its owners announced plans to retire.
Savills has now been appointed to market the four-star country house hotel alongside Knight Frank, with offers being sought in excess of £2.75 million.
The figure is unchanged from the £2.75m guide price reported in June, after the property had originally been marketed at £3.95m.
Set in 6.6 acres of Cumbrian countryside, Farlam Hall has 19 individually designed bedrooms across its main house and estate cottages, as well as landscaped grounds and parking for 25 vehicles.
It is home to the Michelin-starred Cedar Tree by Hrishikesh Desai, which overlooks the hotel's gardens and ornamental lake, as well as the more informal Bistro Enkel.
Tom Cunningham, UK regional director for hotel capital markets at Savills Manchester, said: "Farlam Hall is a beautiful country house located in the picturesque Cumbrian countryside, offering luxury stays and award-winning food.
"The hotel is exceptionally popular among a broad range of visitors both local and international, and sees strong demand throughout the year."
The owners announced in January that they were selling Farlam Hall as they prepared for retirement, stressing that the decision was about their personal circumstances rather than the performance of the business.
At the time, they said the hotel was "trading strongly" and that they hoped new owners would "unleash a new era" for Farlam Hall.
Chef patron Hrishikesh Desai said when the sale was announced that it would remain "business as usual" while a buyer was sought.
Farlam Hall is a Grade II-listed country house hotel near Hallbankgate, around ten miles east of Carlisle.
