A climate film screening will take place to spark community action.
The People’s Emergency Briefing will be shown at Alston Town Hall on Sunday, November 1, at 3pm.
The 50-minute documentary explores climate and nature breakdown, using evidence-based actions to highlight what can be done to reduce the risks.
The film derives from the November 2025 National Emergency Briefing.
It focuses on the effects of climate change on food security, public health, infrastructure, the economy, and national security.
A community discussion will follow the screening to explore what can be done locally.
A spokesperson for Alston Moor Partnership said: "It brings together leading scientists to present a clear picture of the challenges ahead, while creating space for local communities to consider what these issues may mean in their local area, and how they can support their MP to call for stronger action."
Markus Campbell-Savours MP will attend the event and has backed the call for a national emergency briefing led by the Prime Minister and delivered by independent experts.
The screening is free to attend, but booking is encouraged to help organisers plan the event.
