An opera production in Hexham could get a funding boost thanks to a building society’s community scheme.
The Samling Institute has been selected by Skipton Building Society’s Hexham branch for its Community Giving campaign, which supports local causes through a public vote.
A spokesman for the Samling Institute said: "By voting, you'll help us raise money for next year's Samling Academy Opera production, giving young people from Hexham and the North East the opportunity to take part in a fully staged and costumed opera production."
Members of the public can vote by visiting the Hexham Skipton Building Society branch on Fore Street and dropping a blue voting token into the box on their counter.
There is no requirement of being a building society customer, or of inputting any information.
