AN AWARD-winning farm shop in the North East will close next month.
Wheelbirks Parlour, near Stocksfield in Northumberland, won Farm Shop of the Year for the North East region in 2026.
It will close on Sunday, September 6 after being put up for sale with a guide price of £6.75m.

The business includes the ice cream café, orchard garden, children’s play area, commercial kitchen and several retail spaces, all set within the historic working farm.
It extends to around 386 acres of mixed farmland, woodland, residential properties and commercial buildings. Its centrepiece is the award‑winning Wheelbirks Ice Cream Parlour, a popular visitor attraction established in 2010 within converted traditional stone buildings.
Wheelbirks shared an update on Facebook, saying it received an 'incredible response' to its last post.

"Following the incredible response to our last post about the furniture, pictures and other items at the Parlour, we wanted to give everyone a reminder that you can still register your interest in anything you might like to buy once we have closed.
"So many of you have already filled in slips and told us about the things you’ve had your eye on over the years - it has been absolutely lovely to hear your memories and see how much some of these pieces mean to you.
"If there’s something you’d like to potentially purchase, simply fill in one of our slips while you’re visiting us.
"If we don’t find a buyer for the business who wants to purchase the contents, we hope to arrange a sale or auction in the months after we close. We will contact those who have registered an interest when we have more information.
"We still don’t have a date, and of course, if a buyer purchases the business and its contents, a sale may not take place.
"Thank you for all the wonderful support - it really does mean so much to us."
Wheelbirks Parlour is known for Jersey cow milk, ice cream and farm-made dairy products.
Owned by five generations of the Richardson family since 1882, the estate includes a wide range of residential accommodation, including a seven‑bedroom principal farmhouse, East Cottage, West Cottage and three further let cottages, as well as a substantial collection of traditional and modern agricultural buildings.
