Young imaginations are set to take flight in Hexham this summer with a magical storytelling workshop.
Herbal Magic and Potent Potions, led by herbal storyteller Amanda Edmiston, will take place at Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Tuesday, August 18.
The 90-minute session will introduce children to the world of plant folklore, legends, and herbal remedies that have inspired some of literature’s most enchanting stories.
Aimed at children aged eight to 14, the workshop invites participants to create their own potions, learn about the traditional uses of plant medicines, and begin writing and illustrating their own ‘potions book’ on plant paper.
Amanda Edmiston, author of The Time Traveller’s Herbal, combines folklore, fact, and sensory exploration to deliver what audiences have described as "an enchanting glimpse into a magical garden."
Parents are not required to stay, as the event is a drop-off session.
Ms Edmiston comes from a family of storytellers, plant-people, and artists, and uses her background to weave together tales and traditions in a way that connects people to nature and each other.
The event is part of Queen’s Hall’s summer programme and offers a unique blend of creativity, education, and environmental awareness for young people.
