A hit-and-run crash involving a heavy goods vehicle was reported in Northumberland last week.
Northumbria Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the incident.
Police received a report of a collision between a car and a HGV on Berwick Hill Road in Ponteland at approximately 3.50pm on Friday, May 1.
It was understood that the driver of a silver Volvo XC40 was travelling west towards Ponteland when, for reasons to be established, they were in collision with a heavy goods vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the heavy goods vehicle left the scene in the aftermath, and the incident was reported to Northumbria Police.
Emergency services attended where the driver of the car – a woman aged in her 60s – was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Officers from the force’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) have since launched a full investigation and are appealing for the driver of the heavy goods vehicle to come forward, as well as any further witnesses.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time, and those with information about the heavy goods vehicle involved.
Anyone who can assist officers, including those with CCTV or dashcam footage, should send Northumbria Police a direct message on social media or use live chat and ‘report’ forms on the force’s website.
Those who are unable to make contact in these ways can call 101, quoting reference number: NP-20260501-0725.
