Hexham Morrismen are recruiting new members to join their traditional dance team.
The group is inviting anyone interested in Morris dancing to an open night on October 24 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Acomb Village Hall.
Roger Kennington said: "This year we have done 30 separate performances ranging from evenings outside local pubs to village fetes and folk festivals.
"A film (Typist Artist Pirate King with Monica Dolan and Kelly McDonald) was released, and the team danced outside the local cinema to publicise it."
The group believes Morris dancing is a great hobby, providing exercise and a chance to socialise.
Although it can be challenging, entry-level dances are easy to learn.
Anyone starting now is likely to learn a few dances in time to perform next spring.
No previous experience is needed – just a reasonable level of fitness and a desire to have fun.
The Hexham Morrismen often perform with their sister side, the Hexhamshire Lasses, who practice on Mondays.
