A traditional Scandinavian ceremony is set to return to Hexham this year.
Sankta Lucia, which had a break in 2023, will take place at Hexham Abbey on Monday, December 16.
The event is a well-established part of the Scandinavian Christmas calendar and celebrates light.
It originates from the pagan tradition of bringing people together for music, light, and nourishment in the darkest month of the year.
Katrin Auld, who grew up in Sweden, is organising the event with support from Hexham Community Partnership.
She said: "This is the fifth time that we’ve brought Sankta Lucia to Hexham Abbey.
"It’s a magical event that sees Lucia processing around the darkened Abbey wearing a crown of candles.
"She is followed by the rest of the choir dressed in white gowns, carrying candles and singing traditional Swedish songs."
The Edinburgh Lucia Choir will travel down from Scotland for the event.
Ms Auld said: "I find Sankta Lucia a beautiful, calming experience in the lead-up to Christmas.
"It makes me so happy to share it with the people of my adopted hometown of Hexham."
She added: "An added treat is that the Hextol Foundation will be serving up traditional cinnamon rolls and glögg, a festive Nordic drink, after the ceremony.
"I’d highly recommend trying them for the authentic Scandinavian experience.
"People can book these in advance with their tickets and there’s a non-alcoholic option available."
