A 70-year-old Ingoe resident is set to take part in his final Great North Run this Sunday, raising funds in memory of his son.
Andrew Greaves, whose son David sadly passed from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2016 at the age of 31, heads up Team 2Fingers2MND.
The team was founded by David and his wife Philippa in December 2015 when they climbed Kilimanjaro together.
To date, more than £109,000 has been raised for David's MNDA Tribute Fund, supporting vital research into MND and potential cures.
Newcastle's RVI has become 'world renowned' as a leading centre for the study of the disease and related neurological conditions.
As his final run approaches, Mr Greaves is inviting the public to join the fight against MND by sponsoring him.
