TO celebrate Afternoon Tea Week, we asked our readers where the best places to get afternoon tea in Hexham or Tynedale are.
Here are seven of their recommendations.
Tea on the Train, Bellingham was recommended by Louise Tuck and Shelley Angel, who said: "Tea on the Train Bellingham is a wonderful experience and fantastic food. You can always nip next door to The Heritage Centre at Bellingham too for free."

One Facebook review said: "Afternoon tea, great friendly service, decent size cups, enough coffee in pot for two cups each, freshly made sandwiches, good wedge of cake, will make a point of going back next time we are in the area."
Andrew David Robson and Kay Wharton Hall recommended The Watling Coffee House, Corbridge.
A review posted on Facebook said: "Absolutely delicious food. Great friendly service, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy with friends in such a beautiful village. I would highly recommend."
Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B, Bellingham was recommended by Debbie Finlayson, who said: "Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B - great portion sizes."
Stephen Lamb also recommended the Fountain Cottage.
"Absolutely beautiful place! Food was amazing and staff were fantastic! Highly recommended," a Facebook review said.
Anne Palmer recommended The Running Fox, Kirkharle.
One Facebook reviewer said: "Highly recommend The Running Fox! We had a vegan afternoon tea and various pies and pastries. The food was amazing! Friendly staff and dog-friendly too! Definitely worth a visit!"
Bywell Coffee Barn was suggested by Lisa Collingwood.
One Facebook reviewer recommended the Coffee Barn for its 'relaxing atmosphere'.
"I had afternoon tea today with two friends and it was absolutely delicious. A really good balance between sweet and savoury food and we all agreed it was the best afternoon tea we have had. Excellent service too," they said.
Lisa Collingwood also recommended Emma's Coffee & Sweets in Allendale.
"Very friendly staff, great coffee and scones, get yourself here if you're in the area," one reviewer said.
"Fantastic cakes, coffees and food as well as delicious ice cream," another said.
Hextol Tans, Hexham was suggested by Julie Allan.
One review commented: "The food was delicious, best cheese scone I've had in a long time, delicious soup. Husband enjoyed his panini very much. Excellent tea selection, not often I find somewhere which serves rooibos tea."
