Students in the North East have been urged to consider a career in the painting and decorating sector.
The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) has launched a new Level 3 apprenticeship - Craft Painter and Decorator - and is calling on students who are currently waiting for their exam results to consider this as an option for their future.
PDA chief executive Neil Ogilvie said: "Anyone who is considering their options while awaiting exam results can see that there are opportunities to progress in the painting and decorating sector.
"This Level 3 apprenticeship gives a clear route to success for those embarking on a career in colour."
Julie Lawrenson, head of learning and organisational development at Bell Group, who is also chairman of the PDA's education and training committee, said: "Anyone considering a painting and decorating apprenticeship now has the opportunity to study to a higher level, knowing that the qualifications they work towards are fit for the workplace."
