The MP for Hexham has been grilled by a school council about the area and his job.
Guy Opperman, MP for Hexham, visited St Matthew's Catholic Primary School in Prudhoe.
He met with headteacher Martin Gray and County Councillor, Gordon Stewart to discuss the school's recent outstanding Ofsted grades.
Following the discussions, Mr Opperman was quizzed by the school council on various matters from enhancing Prudhoe to legislating in the House of Commons.
Reflecting on the visit, Mr Opperman said: "St Matthew's is truly a fantastic school.
"I was blown away by the enthusiasm of the pupils who can chat confidently about what they learn in the classroom, and they did not hesitate in giving me a good grilling as their local MP!"
Mr Gray said: "The school council children are looking forward to linking up with Guy again in July when they venture down to the Houses of Parliament for a behind the scenes tour."
