Hexham Amateur Stage Society (HASS) is preparing to wow audiences again with their latest concert.
This time the show is called 'BIG SING' and it follows their successful 'Hello Dolly!' production.
Under the musical direction of Robert Laws, alongside accompanist Clair Applegarth, HASS will perform medleys from popular musicals such as Wicked, Jersey Boys, Hairspray, Showboat, The King and I, among others.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the partnership of composers Rodgers and Hammerstein.
In celebration, the concert opens with a compilation of songs from their historic shows including The Sound of Music, South Pacific and Carousel.
The finale will showcase choral highlights from Mamma Mia in honour of Abba's 50th anniversary.
Far from just another concert, it promises quite a memorable night.
'BIG SING' has two performances scheduled.
The first is on April 25 at Corbridge Middle School, and the second on April 26 at Queen Elizabeth High School, both starting at 7pm.
Tickets, priced at £10, can be purchased from hexhamstagesociety.com or at the venue door.
Looking towards the future, the society revealed their next production scheduled for November 2024 - Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera, Pirates of Penzance.
Interested participants for the Pirates of Penzance are encouraged to attend the first rehearsal on May 15, 2024 at 7.15pm at Hexham Community centre or reach out via HASS' website or Facebook page.
