A PUB has thanked emergency services for their help this morning, after the flat above the premises caught fire.
Crews from Cockermouth and Aspatria fire stations attended the incident at the Greyhound Inn in Bothel at 7:11am this morning, April 15.
Firefighters are said to have used a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and a drag rake to extinguish the fire.
Crews were said to be in attendance for around 20 minutes, with the pub thanking emergency services for their quick response to the incident.
In a statement, the Greyhound Inn at Bothel said: "This morning at around 7am a small fire broke out in the domestic flat above the Greyhound Inn, Bothel. The landlady, Hannah and her family got out quickly and safely, and whilst we tried to tackle the fire ourselves, it had started to take hold and we needed the support of Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service who attended and fully extinguished the fire.
"There is no damage to the pub and we will be open as normal tomorrow. We would like to thank and express our immense gratitude to Cumbria Fire & Rescue for their quick response and amazing help. Thank you so much to you all."
