A YELLOW weather warning has been placed across parts of Cumbria today, as the Met Office predicts strong winds may cause 'disruption' across the county.

The Met Office have issued the warning across parts of Cumbria and the rest of England as the organisation say that 'strong winds may cause some disruption through Monday'.

The warning is in place throughout western and southern parts of Cumbria, with area's such as Penrith also being affected.

What to Expect

  • It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

The warning will be in place until 10pm this evening, April 15.
