POLICE have identified the body of a man who was found on the tracks near Wylam train station.
Emergency services were alerted to an incident just after 8.50am on Wednesday, March 13, after being told that a casualty had been found on the line.

Railway services between Newcastle and Carlisle via Hexham were disrupted for several hours while crews were called to the area.
Paramedics and fire crews also attended, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a update on Monday, March 18, British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the body was of a man in his fifties. No further details were released by the BTP.
A coroner report is being prepared.
