A Northumbria primary care service has been named as one of the best according to staff.

Northumbria Primary Care (NPC), which manages 12 GP practices and serves more than 120,000 patients, achieved 'best in class' results in the NHS National Staff Survey.

Northumbria Primary Care received top grades for being 'compassionate and inclusive', 'rewarding and recognising' staff and ensuring they feel their 'voice counts'.

David Hedgcock, managing director of NPC, said: "At the core of our mission is the delivery of the highest standard of care to our patients.

"Achieving this requires a motivated and engaged workforce.

"The NHS Staff Survey serves as a vital tool, allowing us to identify areas of excellence within our organisation and understand opportunities for improvement.

"All of our colleagues contribute to creating a positive working environment."

Dr Phillipa Male, a GP partner at NPC, added: "Fostering a positive staff experience hinges on creating an environment where our teams not only feel comfortable but truly appreciated.

"While we've had some fantastic results in this year’s survey, we recognise the importance of not resting on our laurels.

"The insight gained from the National Staff Survey will play an important role in shaping and enhancing that experience."
