Hexham's MP's Over 50s Fair recently saw more than 100 locals in attendance.

There were 46 community groups including charities, volunteering organisations, hobby clubs, and employers at the event held in the Ponteland Memorial Hall.

Attendees benefited from free advice provided by organisations including Karbon Silver Talk, Age UK, and Northumberland County Council's Warmer Homes Scheme.

Guy Opperman MP said: "I want to make sure local people have the opportunities, advice, and help they need.

"That is why I hold an Over 50s Fair and I was delighted to see it so well attended this year.

"The hall was bustling from start to finish, and full of friendly organisations who attendees could chat to in a welcoming environment about a new job, a new hobby, or an exciting volunteering opportunity.

"I will be holding my annual jobs fair later in the year, and I very much hope to see some of the same faces there."
