Lives could be saved as the Northumberland Wildlife Trust received two new defibrillators.
Two staunch fundraisers, Firefighter Carl Bell and partner Kath Hindmarsh, donated the lifesaving tools.
The pair, raising funds under the charity North East Hearts With Goals, have dedicated five years to raising funds for supplying Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) to communities.
Their efforts have put nine PADs across the region, alongside more than 20 units in sports clubs and fitness centres.
The latest defibrillators for the wildlife trust will be placed at the St Nicholas Park headquarters and nature reserve in Gosforth and to replace the existing device at Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre at Druridge Bay.
Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust chief executive said: "Having recently completed a First Aid at work course led by Carl, I realised just how essential defibrillators are in saving people’s lives when experiencing cardiac arrest and how they need to be easily accessible, so I was very keen we had up to date machines readily available where possible."
