Ushering in the new year for the Hexham and District Music Society is Ensemble 360, esteemed among the UK's top chamber groups.

The ensemble is scheduled to perform at the Queen’s Hall Arts Centre on January 21 at 3pm.

Audiences can anticipate a programme of classic piano quartets by Mahler, Fauré and Dvořák.

Society chair Joan Peugniez said: "This concert will be the perfect antidote to the cold of a winter afternoon.

"Rich, tuneful music in the hands of some of this country's leading musicians.

"We are looking forward to it so much."

Ensemble 360 enjoys a stellar reputation around the UK for quality performances and diverse repertoire, recognised by the Guardian for 'virtuoso performances, bold programming and engaging interpretations'.

The group was shortlisted for the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Ensemble Award in 2023.

Many of the 11 members are principal players in some of Europe’s best orchestras.

The upcoming Hexham concert features four ensemble members playing popular pieces from the chamber music repertoire.

Tickets are available at the Queen's Hall box office, with full programme details and videos accessible at www.hexhammusic.net.
