Eight posts have been opened for graduates by Northumbrian Water in a new two-year scheme aimed at kickstarting careers in the North East.

The fresh recruits will gain valuable experience in numerous roles within the company's Assets Directorate, in charge of the construction and upkeep of its substantial network.

Remuneration for the selected employees will be up to £27,000 per annum, along with training and mentorship from experienced professionals, and the promise of a structured programme across various areas of the department.

The firm strives to expand its workforce and build future talent in line with its growing asset investment, and aims to make services resilient against challenges such as climate change and increasing populations.

Monisha Gower, assets director at Northumbrian Water said: "We're preparing for an exciting period in our asset investment programme, so this is an amazing time to take your first steps into building a career with us.

“We’re looking for recent graduates with a 2:1 or above – or those on track to achieve this in their current studies, who have a passion for the water industry and the environment, a high aptitude for learning and a willingness to take on challenges. We can’t wait to meet the candidates.”
