THE latest recruits to join Northumbria Police's Dog Section have enjoyed their first festive period on the beat.
Northumbria Police posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Diesel, a 16-month-old Belgian Malinois, joined the force from a rescue centre in south Wales after being returned on several occasions.
He has now obtained his General Purpose licence and joined officers patrolling the streets over Christmas and New Year.
Minnie was donated to the force by a local breeder who recognised her extraordinary talents. She is now qualified to assist officers in specialist search operations.
"Diesel and Minnie are now part of our team who provide valuable support on a wide range of our operations," the post said.
