A 63-YEAR-OLD man is under police investigation after being arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit.
Police were called to the incident on Wednesday, December 20 after receiving a report that a car had collided with a wall and had gone into the stream on Morrison Terrace in Acomb.
The ambulance service was also dispatched but thankfully, no one sustained any serious injuries.
A police spokesperson said: "Shortly before 22.45pm yesterday (Wednesday, December 20) police received a report a car had collided with a wall and gone into the stream on Morrison Terrace in Acomb.
"Police and emergency services attended and thankfully no one sustained any serious injuries.
"A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit and has since been released under investigation."
