A TYNEDALE pupil has impressed the local MP - and the Prime Minster - with her Christmas card design.

Hexham MP Guy Opperman has congratulated Ava Graham, a local resident in Hexham, for winning his annual Christmas Card competition.

Ava's winning design was presented to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the House of Commons and will be sent to senior cabinet ministers and other Members of Parliament, as well as to local stakeholders, businesses, and charities in the Hexham constituency.

Speaking about the design, Guy Opperman MP said: "Choosing this year's winner was incredibly difficult after receiving over a hundred excellent entries from children across Tynedale and Ponteland.

"However, after a little help from the Prime Minister, we agreed that Ava's design stood out for its festive flair. Well done, Ava!

"I want to commend Katie Graham and Gwen Clay Wallers for being very worthy runners up."
