Northumberland County Council are inviting residents to have their say on next year's budget by taking part in a consultation.

The council, each year, is required to set a balanced budget accounting for new cost pressures and ensuring services are as efficient as possible.

For the coming year, the council confirms no services reductions are planned.

The Council Leader, Glen Sanderson, affirms the importance of the feedback, "Budget planning has been ongoing for many months.

"We remain in a strong financial position, and this will remain a cornerstone of decision making as we go forward."

He assured that residents' views are essential for council's services prioritisation: "It's a genuine consultation and an opportunity for residents to let us know how they'd prioritise the services we deliver."

Hexham Courant: The consultation runs for six weeks, ending on January 26, 2024

Residents can provide their views on the budget and council services through an online questionnaire.

The consultation runs for six weeks, ending on January 26, 2024, with the budget being presented to the Full Council in February.

An online event is being organised where people will have an opportunity to question the council leader.
