Newcastle International Airport is celebrating a 15 per cent rise in festive flights to Lapland, compared to 2022.

15 flights are set to transport nearly 3,000 passengers to Lapland between now and Christmas Eve.

The spectrum of offerings by tour operators include day trips and extended stays of three, four and seven nights.

Festive activities range from reindeer sleigh rides and husky mushing to spotting the Northern Lights and visiting Santa Claus.

Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development said: “It’s fantastic to be able to provide more choice to our passengers looking to experience this fantastic experience. Winter is a special time for families and what better way to make lifelong memories than taking a trip to the original winter paradise – Lapland.

“Flights this year have been extremely popular and we’re looking forward to welcoming passengers to the Airport ahead of their journeys. For anyone unable to find availability for this year, I recommend booking as early as possible for next year – flights are on sale now!”

The four operators offering flights from Newcastle International Airport next year include Santas Lapland, TUI, Transun and Canterbury Travel.
