PASSENGERS will be facing delays this morning as the weather causes disruption on the lines.
Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes as passengers are forced to use rail replacement transport due to 'slippery rails' stopping train services.
Routes such as Hexham services between Middlesbrough towards Newcastle will be diverted via an alternative route.
According to the Northern Rail website, train services running through these stations will be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 10.30am today.
