A POPULAR show has been hailed a success and organisers look forward to making 2024 bigger and better.

Over 80 Alpacas competed in this year's autumn Halter Alpaca Show on Saturday, November 18 at Hexham Mart - making organisers Debbie and Paul Rippon feel overjoyed and proud.

Judging commenced at 9.30 am and all throughout the day judge Cathy Lloyd worked tirelessly to pick her supreme champions

Debbie Rippon said  “For the first time, we were broadcast via livestream for the world to see, statistics show we had over three hundred unique viewers. our international Judge Cathy Lloyd from Australia who had assessed tens of thousands of alpacas over the years made for a fantastic show. We had entries from 21 different herds from Scotland down to Norfolk together with local breeders too”

She adds: "The general public attendance was greatly increased this year which was amazing to see so many and for them to show so much interest in these beautiful animals.

"We also had a craft stall where some of our members sold their alpaca products and a kid’s craft table which certainly got its use!

"Now to start planning for next year's show and build on what success we have had already roll on 2024!"
