3 Prudhoe Castle
Angie Scott suggested Prudhoe Castle, where the famous Percy family took over in the 1400s.
4 Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster
Try a 3km ghost walk along the coastline at this remote castle.
5 Lindisfarne Priory, Holy Island
The priory is said to be haunted by the ghost of St Cuthbert. He has been seen in the grounds of the priory, the castle and sitting by the shore.
Others have reported a soldier from Cromwell’s time being seen in the castle and several ghosts of monks in the priory grounds.
5 The Schooner Hotel, Alnmouth
Considered one of the most haunted places in Northumberland, the building's history has tales of suicide, murders and massacres.
The Schooner Hotel has 32 rooms, and all of them have reportedly been subject to some paranormal activity.
6 Bamburgh Castle, Bamburgh
The castle has its fair share of ghost stories, legends and myths, having housed kings ranging from Henry VI to James 1.
The most famous of its ghostly residents are the Pink Lady and the Green Lady.
7 Newcastle Ghost Walks
Approximately 1.5 hours, the outdoor ghost tours in and around the Castle Garth area of Newcastle.

9 The Lit and Phil Library, Newcastle
Founded in 1793, the Lit and Phil is the largest independent library outside London and houses more than 150,000 books.

10 Tyne Theatre and Opera House, Newcastle
A guided theatre tour will open the doors to this theatre's intriguing history.
Built in 1867 by industrialist and politician, Joseph Cowen, guests can tour all areas of the Grade I listed building from understage, backstage and other secret areas never seen on a normal visit.
