1 Saathi, Hexham

The top recommended curry house was Saathi, rated by readers including Helen Thompson-Berry, Bev Armstrong, Becky Golden and Trevor Cessford.

A Facebook review said: "Fabulous food, great atmosphere and friendly staff, best curry we've ever had."

2 Zyka, Hexham

Another top recommendation was Zyka. 

Rachel Slater Ladd and Di Hewitson suggested the Indian restaurant.

Dale Golightly said: "Has to be Zyka. Service matches what's on the plate - quality."

3 Cilantro, Hexham

The Indo-Latino tapas bar offers a tapas menu alongside traditional Indian cuisine, including korma with various meats up to the hot naga curry infused with naga pickle.

Penny Burns, Debra Brown and Diane Benn were some of the readers to suggest the fusion restaurant.

4 Mogul Raj, Ponteland

The Mogul Raj offers traditional classics including tandoori dishes and biryani alongside its own 'Mogul Raj Special'. 

A Google review said: "The staff are so polite and pleasant. The food was very tasty."

5 Indus Valley, Hexham

Offering Indian dishes, pizza and kebabs, Indus Valley is rated well for food, service and value on Tripadvisor. 

 

One review said: "I have tried all the restaurants and takeaways in the Hexham Corbridge area and have found the Indus Valley to be the stand-out Indian food in the area."

6 The Spice Valley, Allendale

Another well-rated curry house is The Spice Valley.  One Tripadvisor review said: "The best Indian cuisine. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and courteous staff. Good variety of choice and the staff are knowledgeable about the food." 

7 Aramee, Prudhoe

A Facebook review said: "Dined in a few months ago then got a takeaway tonight. Can recommend 100 per cent, food is amazing, so tasty."

Another review said: "Amazing food, full of flavours, service first class."

8 Tandoori House, Haltwhistle

Linda Eames recommended the Tandoori House.

A Facebook review recommended a naan wrap: "Fabulous Indian with brilliant service, my new favourite is the Naga Chicken Naan Wrap they made up for me last week. Absolutely beautiful and my new top dish by them which isn’t on the menu but went out of their way to make."

9 The Valley, Corbridge

A distinguished Indian restaurant with three establishments, The Valley has branches in Newcastle and Corbridge and also owns Cilantro in Hexham.

Operating since 1989, Corbridge Tandoori offers authentic Bangladeshi cuisine made with fresh local ingredients.
