Hexham's Farmers Market is hosting a day of apple pressing transforming collected apples into locally-sourced juice.
Run by Transition Tynedale volunteers, apples of all varieties, though preferably eating apples, are being collected for this event, that has become a firm favourite for all ages.
The event in Hexham will take place on on October 14.
Volunteers are on-task to press and pulp the apples into samples, which attendees can carry home in their own sterilised bottles.
The apple pressing initiative is part of Transition Tynedale's efforts to promote "local solutions to global problems", specifically reducing food miles by growing and using local produce.
Organisers said: "The Transition Tynedale apple pressing has become a firm fixture for all ages at Hexham’s popular Farmers’ Market.
"Anyone can come along and have a go and the bashing and pulping."
