An award-winning comedian is coming to Hexham this October.

Jo Caulfield, hot from her successful gig at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, is set to continue her 'Here Comes Trouble' tour on October 19 at The Queen's Hall.

Brass-tacks and unvarnished, Jo's new show will regale audiences with tales about life's irritants, from bad mattresses to crashing husbands' nights out.

She said: "My tour show is made up of some of my favourite jokes from my last few Fringe shows and some brand-new material about what I’ve been up to since my last tour.

"I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to get out there and tell these stories, and generally talk about everything that’s happened – and annoyed me – since I was last out on the road like this."

It has been a busy year for Jo, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, a UK-wide tour, and the publishing of her debut book 'The Funny Thing About Death'.

The memoir, exploring life with her older sister Annie Caulfield, came out in August.

The reader is led through their unconventional childhood, shared love of music and rule-breaking, and Annie's cancer diagnosis six years ago.

Jo added: “I was just about to go on stage in when I got the email from Annie telling me that she had cancer.

"Not the best way to start a tour, but me travelling round the country – and the stories that come from being on tour – turned out to be a welcome distraction for us both."
