UK charity Music for All has announced their 'Learn to Play' weekend events return after last year's successful run.
It is to be held at Core Music CIC in Hexham offering free music lessons to everyone on October 7 and 8.
Sonali Banerjee said: “Through the ‘Learn to Play’ events we aim to inspire and support as many people as possible in experiencing the unique joys and benefits of learning to play an instrument which could turn into a lifetime of enjoyment.
"We welcome all age-groups and particularly encourage youngsters who may not have the opportunity to experience music lessons at school."
The initiative is aimed at inspiring both novices and former musicians.
It follows reports highlighting music's role in personal wellbeing during the pandemic.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's research shows an increased appetite for learning new music genres.
Meanwhile, separate research links childhood music lessons to improved cognitive skills in later life.
