WE asked our readers for their recommendations for Tynedale's best pet-friendly places to dine.

Here's what they said.

1 Riverdale Hall Hotel Ltd, Bellingham

One of the most recommended venues was the River Hall Hotel. Readers including Corey Arsenal Bradaz, Gemma Richardson, Christine Morris, Simon Irving and Claire Little all voted for the business, which was named the Best Hotel in Northumberland.

Simon Irving said: "Dogs are allowed in the bar. You can eat off the bar menu and the restaurant menu in the bar too."

Claire Little replied and said: "The food is always amazing."

2 The Boatside Inn, Warden

Jayne Austin Blackburn Stephnie Fathers and Paul R A. Mitcheson all recommended The Boatside Inn, which new owners have taken over.

3 Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B, Bellingham 

Louise Canney recommended the Fountain. One Facebook review said: "Popped in for some food and a drink after a walk to Hareshaw Linn and back. Fab service and food was delicious! Will definitely be back."

4 Red Lion, Newbrough

Trish Law said: "You can go for a lovely countryside walk then stop off for a drink and the food is amazing."

5 Coach and Horses, Hexham

Lisa Scott suggested the Coach and Horses.

"Lovely friendly pub. Really nice inside. Plenty of ales and lager to choose from. Dog friendly also which is great," a Google review said.

6 The King's Head, Allendale

Tessa King recommended The King's Head. One Facebook review said: "Absolutely gorgeous veggie Sunday dinner, I think it's the best I've ever had, the staff were lovely and friendly."

7 Heart of Northumberland, Hexham

This pub was recommended by Anna Caine and James Hadfield.

One Facebook review said: "Had a lovely late lunch! Friendly staff, a lovely warm welcome especially by the fire. Service was prompt, but relaxed and we just had a lovely time."

8 Angel Inn, Corbridge

Paul R A. Mitcheson recommended the Angel. A Google review described the Inn as 'a truly dog-friendly destination'.

"Charlie received lots of attention and there was a bed, bowl and jar of treats waiting in the room for him. When I come back to this area, I won't stay anywhere else," they added.

9 Dipton Mill Inn, Hexham

Paul R A. Mitcheson also recommended the Dipton Mill, which has a varied menu. One Facebook review said: "Our first time here and we were very impressed. The food was delicious and the place had a very nice ambiance."

10 Oddfellows Coffee, Haydon Bridge

The Facebook page Magic Tree Face Painting, Northumberland said: "Oddfellows is very welcoming to both humans and dog-fellows."
