Canadian songwriter Lynne Hanson is set for a sweeping 17-date UK tour this October - and she's stopping in Hexham along the way.

Known for her high energy, guitar-driven performances, Hanson's unique blend of folk, blues, and country has gained her a dedicated fanbase and multiple accolades, winning the Canadian Folk Music Award twice.

Fans can expect to be treated to Hanson's signature sound that lurches from sunshine, blue-sky ballads to full-on, thunderous, gritty Americana.

With a voice drawing comparisons to American folk icons like Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, the Canadian singer-songwriter’s lyrics have been hailed as deeply poetic and subtly transformative.

Hanson, over her 17-year solo career, has not only penned hit songs but has also released two books of poetry.

Her international touring has brought her on stage in countries like the Netherlands and Scotland, and she has supported Grammy-nominated artists like Gretchen Peters, Steve Forbert, and Albert Lee.

Her appearances include esteemed music festivals like Take Root (Netherlands), Glasgow Americana, Maverick Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival (US), and Winnipeg Folk Festival (Canada).

Hanson will be performing at The Vault in Hexham on October 14.
