POLICE have issued an update after a vehicle 'allegedly' contravened a road closure at a popular Tynedale event.

The incident occurred during the well-attended Prudhoe Miner's Race on Sunday, September 3.

Police were alerted of the breaching the road closure sign on Front Street.

A spokeswoman said: “We received a report that at 9am on Sunday, a vehicle was allegedly driven down Front Street in Prudhoe which contravened a road closure order which was in place at the time.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
