The Haydon Bridge Harvest Market is set to return, bringing together the Tyne Valley community for a day of festive activities.

This popular annual event, which serves as a fundraising effort for St Cuthbert's Church, has grown in size and scope since its inception in 2017.

Taking place on September 16 within the picturesque grounds of the church, the Market will feature a wide array of local produce, arts and crafts, and family-friendly entertainment.

At the heart of the Harvest Market will be a showcase of top-quality fruit and vegetables, courtesy of local allotment holders.

The event will also feature offerings from local bakeries, as well as plants, candles, and handmade crafts.

For the younger visitors, there will be hands-on activities like bug hotel building, bee baths, and an opportunity to interact with Stony Pasture Alpacas.

Several other local businesses and organisations will be present at the market, including Muckle Brewery, Northumbrian Pantry, Hexham Honey Association, Warwick Bridge Corn Mill, Pure Plants, and Henshaw Interiors.

Visitors can expect a diverse range of offerings, from fabrics to music, along with a raffle and tombola.

Dog lovers can rejoice, as there will be treats available for their furry companions.

Children can take part in competitions, and attendees will have the chance to purchase St Cuthbert's calendars for 2024.

The Revd Gill Alexander, Interim Minister at St Cuthbert’s said: “Harvest is a time when we give thanks for God’s gifts and is an opportunity for us to come together to share and celebrate all that we have as a community. The Haydon Bridge Harvest Market is growing every year and we look forward to welcoming people from near and far.”

Julia Cooper, of the fundraising team at St Cuthbert's said: “We as a community are great at supporting local events. Now is an opportunity for everyone to join together once again and we have worked hard to put together a programme of activities and attractions to make sure there will be something for everyone. Please come along if you can. Everyone is very welcome from Haydon Bridge and beyond.”

The Haydon Bridge Harvest Market will take place from 10am to 1pm.
