TAKE A splash back in time with us as we look through happy memories of Tynedale residents during their time at Hexham Swimming Pool.
The site was Hexham's go to swimming pool between 1974 and 2008 before the new pool opened at the Wentworth Leisure Centre in 2008.
After being abandoned for over a decade, Hexham Swimming Pool was then put up for sale in 2016. It wasn’t long before plans were unanimously approved by Northumberland County Council’s strategic planning committee.

Before it was a baths, the building was a formerly wool warehouse, which has inspired the development's ‘the Wool House’ name.
Now it is going to turned into 45 luxury apartments, duplexes and penthouses across six floors and hopefully will be completed by Easter 2024.

The baths were also keen to hold fundraisers such as Anna-Louise Glendinning who was doing kayak rolls for charity at Hexham Swimming Pool.
Not only did residents visit the baths but also Euro MP Fiona Hall with Lib Dem bods Andrew Duffield paid a flying visit and was pictured next to pool manager Geoff Cant.

It was also important for staff to continue their training at the site such as casual at Haltwhistle Swimming Pool and full time lifeguard for Leisure Tynedale David Ballantyne who was trained from scratch by trainer/assessor for the Royal Life Saving Society Julia Roberts at Hexham Swimming Pool
