For the second consecutive year, two students from Hexham Middle School have achieved the remarkable feat of having their artwork featured at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

This prestigious honor was bestowed upon Callum Bedford-Smith and Archie Duke, both in year 7, who created a colossal Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar as part of the on-site exhibition in the capital.

Over 21,000 students ranging in age from 4 to 19 from throughout the UK entered the Young Artists' Summer Show this year.

Every submission was subjected to scrutiny by a panel comprising passionate artists and arts professionals, resulting in selected pieces being included in both the online and on-site displays at the Royal Academy of Arts.

Christian Telfer, also in year 7 at the school, received recognition for his outstanding clay tile inspired by his own window view.

Christian's artwork will be showcased in the online gallery.

Expressing their excitement at the opportunity to showcase their creation, Callum and Archie exclaimed, "We feel happy to get this opportunity to showcase our artwork and we're so excited that people will see it in the capital of England!"

Ellie Taylor, a teacher at Hexham Middle School, expressed her delight at the students' achievements.

She said: "We have some incredible artists at Hexham Middle and I am delighted that once again, we have been given this opportunity to showcase our talents.

We are incredibly proud to be able to celebrate this amazing achievement."
People can view the artworks on display at the gallery from July 18 to August 13, with the online exhibition launching on the same day.
